How can I participate?
You can join the team to run or walk, make a pledge, sponsor Team Carefor, or volunteer.

What time does it start?
Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 8 a.m. - rain or shine! Make sure to pick up your race kit prior to the race. Be at the start line 15 minutes before the gun shot.

Where shall I park?
Hogsback Rd. Parking Lot - First come first served on race morning. The parking lot is managed by an attendant and a Police Officer at the corner of Hogsback Rd. and Riverside Dr. Entrance to Hogsback Rd. will only be open until the lot is full.

Mooney's Bay Park Lot - The Mooney's Bay Parking Lot is off Riverside Dr. and it is a metered lot. It may cost about $6 to park for the duration of the event. Bring change!

Recommended Parking Lots - In addition to the above lots, you can park in many of the lots along Brookfield Dr. which meets Riverside Dr. at the Hogsback Rd. corner. These lots are very convenient to the event site (about a 5 minute walk) and are free, but please obey parking/no parking signs.

There Will Be No Access to Riverside Dr. from Prince of Wales Dr. Access to parking lots and the race site is from Riverside Dr. only.

Why do we need a race kit? Where do I pick them up?
All Team Carefor members must drop off their pledge forms and collected funds at the Carefor Tent and pick up their special edition Team Carefor t-shirt during the following dates/times:

Pre-race day race kit pick up @ Carefor Tent - Friday, August 31st 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Terry Fox Facility - 2960 Riverside Dr. Please use the Terry Fox Athletic Facility Parking Lot off Riverside Dr., South of Hogsback Rd.

We highly recommend that participants pick up their package on Friday, August 31, between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility. This will be the only opportunity we provide for you to review the course and ask questions of our race and course directors.

What prizes am I eligible for?
You are eligible for prizes when collecting pledges in support of Carefor:

• $100 or more: complimentary registration to the event
• $175 or more: baseball hat
• $250 or more: stainless steel water bottle
• $500 or more: gym bag

All the prizes are cumulative!

The event will have a Grand Prize for the participant who collects the most pledges on behalf of Carefor as well as five secondary prizes for the participants collecting the 2nd to 6th most pledges.

The participant who collects the most pledges will receive a 4-month fitness membership to The Athletic Club located in the Trainyards (Value: $250)

The participants who collect the 2nd to 6th most pledges will receive a pair of passes to The Nordik Spa in Chelsea, Quebec (Value: $88)

Is collecting pledges a mandatory thing?
Registration fees for confirmed members of Team Carefor will be waived if the minimum amount of pledges ($100) is reached.

Should the minimum of $100 in pledges not be reached, participants will be responsible for the cost of their own registration fees payable to Somersault Series Event:
3 Km Walk/Run -- $45
8 Km Walk/Run -- $65

So the proceeds go to Carefor?
All money raised at this event will support Carefor's charitable work in the community and provide:

• Transportation to and from our Adult Day Programs for clients living with dementia who are unable to use the mass transit system.
• Subsidies to help clients who are unable to afford the full cost of a service.
• Equipment for eight nursing clinics which provide an alternative for clients in need of home care.
• Ongoing education and training of the health care providers delivering Carefor services.
• Upgrades to Carefor-owned buildings to improve safety and provide a more comfortable environment for our clients and staff.

I won’t be able to attend the event but I’d still like to raise funds for local home health care. What can I do?
You can make a donation to Carefor.
