Location: Ottawa

Carefor Health & Community Services is a not-for-profit, charitable health care organization offering a wide variety of services in the greater Ottawa area, Eastern Counties and Pembroke. With over 750 staff and 300 volunteers, our skilled team members work closely with clients, caregivers and a multidisciplinary health care team to deliver quality and innovative support services.

This position is not on weekends except by exception, and is scheduled for day shifts (there are no evenings or night call).

There is a vacancy for a full time Registered Practical Nurse with Foot Care experience to work in the Ottawa and surrounding areas. As a Foot Care nurse with Advanced Foot Care training you will provide a wide range of foot care services, either in the home or at our community foot care clinics. You will utilize a General & Diabetic Foot Assessment Tool which follows the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario Best Practice Guildeline "Reducing Foot Complications for People with Diabetes", on all new clients to Carefor. You will work days and the occasional weekend shifts in order to meet operational requirements.

Qualifications include:

  • Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Certification in advance foot care required
  • Experience in foot care clinics preferred
  • Previous community experience will be considered an asset
  • Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, (G2 level)
  • Use of a reliable vehicle that is insured for business use
  • Bilingualism is an asset (French/English)
