Respite Program: Eastern Counties
The Carefor Respite Program is a home care support service which allows family and friends to schedule temporary relief from their role as caregiver. This permits a period of respite for caregivers, alleviating stress and other strains that can be placed on relationships.
The goal of the program is to provide a service which offers both safety and support for the frail elderly, as well as adults with physical disabilities. The program offers:
- Caregiver relief
- Reduction of client's anxieties about being alone
- Reduction of risk for client injury
- Prevention of premature institutionalization
- Prevention of unnecessary hospitalization
A wide range of individuals can benefit from the Carefor Respite Program, including convalescents, the frail elderly in need of supervision, physically challenged individuals, palliative clients, and many others.
