Cancer Support Network: Eastern Counties

You alone can do it - but you can't do it alone.

The Carefor Cancer Support Network is a network of volunteers who believe that self-help and independence are the healthiest ways to combat illness.

Carefor Cancer Support Network facilitiesThe Network provides cancer clients, as well as their families and communities with information, education, resources, referrals and support. This helps‘ fill the gap' that is often felt by clients and families to existing cancer support services.

Support is provided on a one-to-one basis and in monthly support group meetings. Information and resources shared at the meetings create a sense of ‘shared experience' among the Network's attendees. In addition to this, community information sessions are also offered.

As a participant, you will:

  • Share support, information, friendship and strength.
  • Decrease feelings of isolation and loneliness.
  • Learn to enhance your ability to communicate your needs and feelings.
  • Grow in self confidence as you, in turn, help others.
  • Develop a sense of hope from hearing how others are coping.
  • Share practical hints on managing day-to-day concerns.

The Carefor Cancer Support Network is made up of individuals who share the same problems or needs, and provide each other with mutual, confidential support.
