Planned giving – Gifts that leave a lasting legacy
Carefor Health & Community Services is pleased to provide you with an opportunity to make a more significant and lasting impact and investment to support local not-for-profit home health care delivery.
The benefits of Planned Giving are powerful ones.
- Satisfaction - Knowing you are supporting services that help local families to stay together longer at home.
- Financial - Lowering your current taxes and/or lowering the taxes your estate will be required to pay.
- Security – Finalizing your charitable choices now instead of later or never.
- Peace of mind - Ensuring that family and financial matters are resolved privately.
- Control - Reducing the risk that your wishes will be hindered by circumstances beyond your control.
The Gift of a Bequest - One of the simplest ways to make a Planned Gift is through a bequest. Naming Carefor Health & Community Services as a beneficiary in your will allows you to make a larger gift than you thought possible in your lifetime. A bequest provides charitable tax credits for your estate so that your loved ones can receive the inheritance you intended.
The Gift of Life Insurance - Making a Planned Gift through a life insurance policy is an affordable way to make a larger gift to Carefor. You can name Carefor Health & Community Services as a beneficiary to an existing policy, or you can transfer ownership of the policy and receive a tax credit for the premiums you pay.
The Gift of Property - Gifts of property such as real estate, securities, or stock can be donated to Carefor Health & Community Services. By donating stocks, bonds or mutual funds you can reduce your capital gains taxes. Contact Delphine Hasle at dhasle@carefor.ca or 613-749-7557 ext 2147 to receive the form to make a charitable donation of securities or mutual funds.
We encourage you to let us know if you have named Carefor Health & Community Services in your will. Please rest assured that your intention will be held in strictest confidence. We would like to express our appreciation to you personally for your commitment and support. Moreover, by letting Carefor know of your intentions ahead of time, we can ensure your gift is used in the way you wish it to be used, including the possibility of establishing an endowment fund or a scholarship bursary in your name. If you prefer, your commitment to Carefor can remain anonymous.
If you would like more information on making a bequest to Carefor Health & Community Services, please contact our Fundraising Officer at (613) 749-7557 x2147 or email at dhasle@carefor.ca
