Let's Get Together Program: Ottawa Region
The "Let's Get Together" club is a fun day of activity in a positive, upbeat setting. Our club members come from a wide range of backgrounds, but they share one common goal - the desire to have fun and make new friends.
Meet Carol, one of our programs participants
As one of our club members said, "I look forward to my day at "Let's Get Together" because it is a day for me where I meet with people who care and are interested in me. They make me feel special."
Carefor's "Let's Get Together" Program is offered to seniors living in the community who have a diagnosis of depression. Club members must be residents of Ottawa who have a valid Ontario health card. We offer a full day of activity to clients who need a structured leisure program with an emphasis on socialization.
The club members are involved in the choice of activities offered and actively participate in a wide range of activities. The program includes conversation, individual and group activities, community outings, music, special events, a fitness component and educational opportunities. Special events in the lives of the club members, such as birthdays, are celebrated.
A three-course meal, consisting of soup or salad, a hot entrée and dessert is offered at noon. Nutritious snacks are provided throughout the day. Club members may assist with meal preparation, baking or other kitchen duties if they choose.
Clients may arrive and leave as they wish.
